The Steady Collaborator

Christine’s voice will be the one that welcomes you to Sytsma Wealth Strategies.  She’ll also be your first point of contact in the years to follow.  It’s the part of her job she enjoys the most.  If you need to schedule an appointment, have a question answered– she’s the one to go to.  She handles client needs & requests internally and with outside contacts.  All account-related tasks & paperwork pass under her critical eye, as do deposits, withdrawals, and transfers of assets & money.

Christine’s outgoing & friendly nature will set you at ease, allowing you to feel  comfortable sharing your story and helping you to acknowledge some of the emotion-based aspects of making financial decisions.  She is committed to our clients’ success and sees through distractions - both real and potential - to stay focused on what needs to be achieved.  Her efforts are concentrated on identifying and implementing the tasks that drive progress toward achievement of goals.

Christine and Tami have worked together since 2010, but Christine has been a West Michigander since 1993, when she moved here to attend Grand Valley State University and earn a Bachelor in Social Work degree.  She has since earned her Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and is a Registered Paraplanner.™*

Off the clock:

Christine loves to hike (& snowshoe), bike, and kayak with her husband, Bob.  She’s also been known to bring homemade baked goods to the office and rarely goes anywhere without bringing a book, just in case an opportunity for a quiet moment or two of reading should present itself.

First financial lesson I learned:

At the end of the day, the register has to balance. I learned that while working summers and weekends at my aunt and uncle’s roadside produce stand. I’ve since learned that it’s equally as true for a multimillion-dollar business.

Best financial lesson I learned:

Don’t be afraid to ask questions … and don’t be afraid to ask for a second opinion.

My financial goal:

To balance saving now for a comfortable retirement with spending now for an adventurous present.
